This book is part of the United Nations (UN) interagency project entitled “The National Project for Risk and Disaster Management in Sudan”, commissioned by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in 2005 to support the Government of Sudan in strengthening its capacity to deal more effectively with recurring problems of emergencies and disasters. The project involves the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), UN Development Programme (UNDP), UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Sudan Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MAF) and other government agencies from Sudan. The main objective of the book is to review and analyse the current food security strategy and nutritional and agricultural policies in the Sudan.
