The situation in eastern Sudan: an analysis of alliances, armed groups and regional relations with a vision to maintain the stability of the region from 2022 till now, Dr Eisa Al-Ghali

Purpose: This article highlighted eastern Sudan , which has suffered from a long history of conflict dating back to the nineties. This has led to  it being a volatile region characterized by conflict, poverty and political instability. The region has witnessed the emergence of various armed groups, alliances, and regional dynamics that have shaped the conflict landscape. Analysis of alliances, armed groups and regional relations with a vision to maintain the stability of the region, (from 2022 until now).

Design/Methodology/Approach: A qualitative approach based on theoretical analysis and critical evaluation was used. Preliminary data was collected from official sources in Sudan as well as websites of international organizations. This study draws on a range of primary and secondary sources, including academic articles, press reports, abstracts and reports on eastern Sudan, as well as non-governmental officials.

Results: The challenges facing the process of rebuilding Sudanese society were critically assessed and the findings showed that armed groups have a significant impact on the ongoing conflict in Sudan.  Resolving the conflict in the Sudan also requires a comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes of the conflict. The international community must therefore continue to support the peace process in the Sudan, which seeks economic success, social justice and a key entry point for sustainable development.

Authenticity/Value: Provide  a clear analysis of the current situation of the eastern regions of Sudan, and the extent to which  a comprehensive analysis of alliances, armed groups and regional relations in the eastern regions is provided with a vision to maintain the stability of the region.

Research Restrictions/Effects: The war significantly affected the normal official business of the state in Sudan. This made collecting data from Sudan a difficult task. However, the author used his own and reputable international sources to collect the basic data needed for the analysis.

Practical implicationsThe results of the study are directly related to the state of Sudan's eastern regions. It can help the country rebuild the right path for both the Sudanese state and government to prioritize addressing the root causes of the conflict, including poverty, inequality, and political marginalization. Sudanese at the regional level.
