Climate change underscored the tangible impact on the health of humans, animals, plants and microbial biodiversity, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Consequently, community development-based co-operation is crucial for accelerating the achievement of the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The Rector of Universitas Airlangga founded the World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) in 2018. This association aims to foster co-operation and collaboration among universities and institutions from various nationalities and academic backgrounds. WUACD, with 39 international university members, contributes to community development in members’ home countries, focusing on SDG villages through education, health, environment and SME empowerment activities. To further the achievement, WUACD is expanding its network, collaborating with international associations such as the World Association for Sustainable Development, ASEAN Bio-Circular-Green Economy Network and ASEAN University Network–University Social Responsibility and Sustainability, using multi-helix collaborative network scheme.
