Purpose: This study examines the role of digital transformation strategy in strengthening quality education outcomes aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) in selected Iraqi public universities.
Design/Methodology/Approach: A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed. Data were collected from 237 academic leaders across three Iraqi universities using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis were conducted to test the proposed hypotheses.
Findings: The results reveal a significant positive relationship between the availability of digital transformation requirements and quality education indicators (β=0.744; R²=0.617; p < 0.05). While digital infrastructure readiness was high, organisational and training-related barriers remain substantial.
Originality/value: The originality of this study stems from filling a research gap concerning the role of digital transformation in enhancing the quality of education and achieving SDG 4 in Iraqi higher education. It also provides empirical evidence that contributes to enriching the scientific literature and offers practical guidance for universities and policymakers.
Practical Implications: Universities should align digital transformation policies with sustainable development objectives, strengthen leadership commitment, and invest in continuous digital capacity-building initiatives.
