Abstract: The prolonged conflict in Sudan has severely damaged critical infrastructure, resulting in disruptions to economic activities, essential services, and social cohesion. This study explores how Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) principles can be integrated into strategic infrastructure planning in post-war Sudan. It employs a mixed-methods approach, combining a systematic review of the best global practices with a quantitative analysis of infrastructure performance metrics aligned with SDG indicators. The research identifies key challenges, including fragmented governance, limited resources, and political instability. Additionally, it highlights opportunities such as international collaboration, local community engagement, and adopting innovative technologies. The study presents a comprehensive framework for aligning Sudan’s infrastructure development with relevant SDGs. This framework includes vision and goal setting, active stakeholder engagement, rigorous environmental and social impact assessments, proactive risk management, and robust monitoring systems. Together, these elements form a holistic and integrated strategy for sustainable development. The results highlight the transformative potential of SDG-aligned planning in addressing post-conflict challenges. By emphasizing resilience and equity, infrastructure projects can restore essential services, stimulate economic recovery, and rebuild trust among affected communities. Integrating SDG principles ensures that reconstruction efforts not only meet immediate needs but also promote broader goals such as environmental sustainability and social inclusivity. Furthermore, practical insights and a replicable framework are provided to guide post-conflict reconstruction strategies in Sudan. The analysis underscores the importance of adaptive planning, innovative financing models, and cross-sectoral collaboration. These components are fundamental for fostering sustainable, inclusive, and resilient infrastructure development, thereby supporting long-term peace and stability.
