Abstract: This chapter examines the challenges and opportunities facing Sudan in its efforts to achieve sustainable development during and after the ongoing war. It highlights the importance of rebuilding national institutions, strengthening governance, improving data collection, and accelerating progress towards the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Drawing on contributions from international experts, Sudanese diaspora communities, researchers, and policy-makers, the chapter presents a strategic framework for post-war reconstruction and sustainable peacebuilding. It also emphasises the role of international cooperation, innovation, inclusivity, and evidence-based policy-making in supporting Sudan’s long-term recovery and development. The chapter concludes by outlining key recommendations for rebuilding Sudan in a way that promotes stability, resilience, dignity, and prosperity for all citizens.
